The AAAA record
TypeAAAA
HoldsThe IPv6 address a name points to
Used toPoint a name at a server's IPv6 address.
Exampleexample.com. 300 IN AAAA 2001:db8::10
Command Linedig +short example.com AAAA
If a name has an AAAA record, most visitors with IPv6 will use it first, so make sure the server really answers on that address.
Records are cached for their TTL, so a changed AAAA record can take up to the old TTL to show everywhere. Lower the TTL a day before planned changes.
