What Is My IP shows the public IP address our server sees you connecting from, along with its approximate network operator and location where available.

Use this to quickly find your own public address for something like a firewall allowlist entry, to confirm a VPN or proxy is actually active by seeing the address change, or just out of curiosity about how your connection appears to the outside world.

This shows the address of whatever you are actually connecting through, which is your VPN or proxy's address if you are using one, not a way to see through it to your device's real address.
