Notable updates to Frabs, newest first.

2026-07-24

  • Launched Speed Test, Ping Test, Port Checker and Uptime Checker, bringing the tool count to 24 of 25 planned tools.
  • Fixed WHOIS and domain lookups returning unknown registration dates for multi-part TLDs like .co.uk and .com.au.
  • The floating pill navbar now hides on scroll down and reappears on scroll up, on both mobile and desktop.
  • Added a live search bar built into the mobile navbar itself, and removed the separate search box from the mobile menu.
  • Tool pages now show your own recent searches instead of generic examples once you've used a tool before.
  • Documentation and Status pages are live: Documentation covers how the Health Check score is calculated and what every tool checks; Status shows live uptime history for the website and every tool, checked automatically every 5 minutes.
  • Launched the Frabs API: programmatic access to every tool with a developer account and an API key, on three usage-based plans.
  • Added a Manage Subscription page for API accounts to view usage, plan details and cancel.
  • Tool URLs are now shorter: frabs.net/dns-lookup instead of frabs.net/tools/dns-lookup. Old links still work and redirect automatically.
  • Added a sitemap and search-engine friendly metadata across every page, including keywords and clearer descriptions.
  • Tutorial titles are now properly capitalised throughout.
  • Added stricter security headers site-wide (HSTS, a content security policy and related protections).
  • Fixed a bug where navigating to a new page didn't always scroll all the way to the top.
  • Launched Traceroute, completing the full set of 25 tools.
  • Fixed a major bug where technology, CMS and analytics detection silently failed against most real websites due to a compression handling issue. WordPress, Next.js and several other platforms are now detected correctly.
  • Tool category tabs now link directly to each category's page instead of only filtering in place.
  • The homepage's Coverage and How It Works sections now use bordered cards, matching the rest of the site.
  • The mobile menu now lists every tool category and links to Tutorials, Documentation, API, Changelog and Status.
  • Fixed an intermittent SSL Checker false positive against frabs.net itself, immediately after a deploy.
  • Launched 10 more tools, bringing the total to 35: Meta Tag Checker, Open Graph Preview, Robots.txt Tester, Sitemap Checker, Blacklist Checker, Subnet Calculator, Email Validator, HTTP Status Code Checker, QR Code Generator and URL Encoder/Decoder.

  • Launched with the Health Check and 13 other tools live on day one, plus a 27-article Tutorials library.
  • Shipped 11 more tools covering IP, ASN, reverse DNS, technology detection, redirects, IPv6 and DNS propagation.
  • Full visual redesign: dark theme, a sharper structural look, and a real logo.
  • Added an About section and related-tutorial links to every tool page.
