Frabs started with a simple problem: it is too hard to know if your server is under attack until real damage is already done. We built the tool we always wanted.
Most people running a server find out about a break-in attempt the hard way. Something looks off, and then it is SSH in, check the auth log, check the web server log, check the firewall, and try to piece together what happened from raw text files. It is slow, it is easy to miss something, and it is worse at 3am.
We wanted a tool that was already watching. Something that noticed the flood of failed logins before an account got compromised, spotted the port scan before it turned into something worse, and could show us exactly what happened on the server in the hours before anything went wrong.
Big security platforms exist, but they are built for teams with a dedicated security engineer. They cost a lot, take real effort to set up, and need ongoing care to keep running. For a solo developer, a small team, an agency, or a hosting provider, that is often far more than the job needs.
Frabs is the other option. Simple to install, $7.99 per server per month, and useful from the first minute with no setup required. No dashboards to build and no rules to write by hand. Just a clear view of what is happening on your server, running on that same server.
