Server States

What each state means, and how Frabs shows planned versus active.

Frabs only shows a state it can prove. A server is never shown as protected just because a switch is on.

State	Meaning
Not Installed	The server was added; the install command has not been run
Setup Pending	The sensor is connected and the plan is waiting for your review. Nothing is watched yet
Monitoring Active	The sensor reports and counts traffic; automatic actions are off (monitoring or simulation mode, or turned off)
Protection Active	The sensor reports and counts traffic, and Frabs may act by your rules
Degraded	Something stopped working, for example a platform's guest list could not be read. The last good list is kept and the reason is shown
Layout Changed	The interfaces the plan watched are gone; use Reconnect
Offline	No report from the sensor; traffic on this server is not being watched

Traffic seen

The server's page shows Traffic Seen: how many watched VMs actually sent traffic in the last 5 minutes. This proves counting works, not just that it is configured. Idle VMs are not counted.

On the server

frabs status shows the same: Found and "nothing yet" before you confirm, then Watching, Traffic seen and Protection after.
